Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools Limited (DLCSL)

The Schools Company

Over the past 20 years there has been ever-increasing compliance and legal requirements from Governments and educational bodies to ensure the delivery of high quality education in a safe environment for students and those who care for and educate them. These complex regulations have placed significant burden on individual parishes.

As such, after considerable consultation with priests, the Catholic Schools Office, the Council of Priests and legal advice, the decision was made to move to a new governance model for Catholic Schools within the Diocese of Lismore in 2020.

A not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee has been established to govern, administer and conduct Catholic schools within our Diocese. The Schools Company has responsibility for all governance issues in schools including compliance and regulatory matters. This company is called Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools Limited (DLCSL) and is also referred to as the Schools Company.

This change is an important step in the continuing development of our Catholic schools.  I know many of you have given greatly to our school system and are rightly proud of what you have achieved. You have an ownership which comes from a job well done. Your sacrifice, commitment, generosity and good will has provided our Diocese with a quality school system, thank you.

Please join with me in praying for the success of this new chapter in the story or our Catholic schools as we all strive to bring God’s message of love to our young people.
