Teachers (Permanent and Casual) Register Before Applying to Schools
Teachers in the Diocese of Lismore are employed by the principals and parish priests. The Catholic Schools Office assists through the teachers registration process which is your first step in seeking employment and should be completed prior to contacting schools. page. This page also contains information for non – NSW trained teachers, prospective and returning teachers. After you have registered it is important that you also make yourself known to the principals, send a resume, make an appointment and let them know you have registered with us and are interested in employment in their school. The CSO does not issue a registration number.
Please note : The above documentation should be completed prior to contacting schools if you are looking for casual work. If you are applying for an advertised position the above documentation does not need to be completed before the application closing date.
On receipt of your registration documents the CSO will issue you with an email stating receipt of your application and the status of your Working with Children Check. If you have not received an email within two weeks of submitting your application please enquire by emailing Trish at email@example.com.
You will be issued with an employee PIN once you have been employed. Information received through the registration process will be used for payroll purposes. If all documents required are not included in it may effect your payment once employed. See the checklist to make sure you have submitted all necessary documents.
Ancillary Staff – Teacher Assistants, School Support Staff, Administration and Maintenance staff are employed at the school level. Please submit a resume to the principal and enquire directly about positions available at their school. You must provide a current Working with Children Check.

Enterprise Agreements –
Conditions of service for all staff are governed by enterprise agreements which specify aspects of service including salary scales, leave conditions, classification requirements, promotions positions and various miscellaneous matters.
The CSO is approved by NESA
