Principal and Assistant Principal Positions

  • Principal and Assistant Principal positions are advertised in the Sydney Morning Herald and Brisbane Courier Mail as well as in the Employment section of the Catholic Education Office (CEO) website.

Teaching Positions

If you are applying for a specific advertised teaching position:

  • Make application directly to the Principal of the school as per the advertisement before the closing date.
  • Contact the CEO and request a blue Teacher Application Form.
  • Complete the Teacher Application Form and return it to the CEO with all requested documentation attached.
  • Once you have been screened for child protection, the office will mail you a Child Protection screening number.

If you are making a general application regarding teaching opportunities in the Lismore Diocese (this includes casual, temporary or full time positions):

  • Contact the CEO and request a blue Teacher Application Form.
  • Complete the Teacher Application Form and return it to the CEO with all requested documentation attached.
  • Contact the Principals of the schools of your choice from the list included in the Teacher Application form, let them know you have registered with the CEO and that you are interested in a teaching position at their school.
  • Please note that this office does not issue employment numbers similar to other employing authorities. However we do issue a Child Protection screening number. Principals will request this number. This screening number will only be issued once your application is in order.
  • Browse the Employment section of this website where vacancies will be advertised. (Please note that short term block and casual positions are not usually posted to the website.)

Ancillary Positions

Ancillary appointments are made at the school level by the Principal in consultation with the Parish Priest.

Please note that child protection legislation requires preferred applicants for all positions to be subject to employment screening.
