Catholic education in the Diocese of Lismore is a long standing provider of school education on the north coast of New South Wales. 46 Catholic primary and secondary schools operate in all major urban centres and many smaller towns from Tweed Heads to Laurieton.  All Catholic schools seek to provide a comprehensive, quality education in a welcoming and secure environment.

The Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Lismore is calling for applications from suitably qualified professionals for the position of  Literacy and Numeracy Action Plan Training Officer.  The purpose of the role is to support the implementation of the Mission of the Catholic Schools Office and to provide high quality support services to Catholic school communities.

The Literacy & Numeracy Action Plan Training Officer:

  • manages initiatives which focus on system-wide needs for specialist professional support and strategic advice in the key areas of primary curriculum and pedagogy
  • provides specific support to Instructional Leaders K-2, Leaders of Curriculum and Pedagogy and classroom teachers with the key objective to enhance school improvement.

The position is situated within the Learning Services Team of the Catholic Schools Office, and may be based in either Coffs Harbour or Port Macquarie, dependent upon the successful candidate. The role holder will work in association with the Assistant Director Learning Services, School Service Consultants and the Curriculum Consultant as part of a service team assisting with the five additional State Literacy/Numeracy schools.

This is a temporary contract position for a period of 3 years, commencing 22 January 2018, and concluding January 2021.  Secondment is available for internal staff.
