Director’s Message

Welcome to the Catholic Schools Office website. Catholic school education commenced in the Diocese of Lismore in 1860 with the establishment of a small lay conducted school in South Grafton. For over 150 years we have been educating generations of students, supporting families in the faith development of their children and contributing positively to local communities. Any time span like this has seen massive societal changes. The contribution of the religious orders for well over 120 years laid the foundation for a strong and vibrant education community today.

Catholic schools respond to and serve the needs of parents who seek a Catholic education for their children. Catholic schools contribute to the Church’s mission to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. They offer the Catholic community in the Diocese of Lismore and the people of Australia an educational foundation for life to the full, meaning the full development of the person’s spiritually, intellectually, physically, morally and emotionally. They fulfil parents’ rights in a democratic, pluralist society to choose the schooling for their child that reflects their own Catholic, Christian values, beliefs and hopes as Australians.

We are well served by dedicated principals, teachers and support staff determined to provide a high quality education.

Our website offers you the opportunity to learn and discover more about the Catholic Schools Office and its work.
